The Mitchell House and Gardens at 421 North Lake Drive in Lexington, South Carolina was the venue of choice for Ashley and Blake's June summer wedding. The bridal party and groomsmen met on Main Street in downtown Lexington for photographs prior to arriving at the wedding venue.
I first met with Ashley in Columbia at a local Starbucks. She was so excited as we talked about all of her wedding plans, bridesmaids dresses, engagement session ideas, and Blake. Each and every time she mentioned his name, Ashley beamed and smiled from ear to ear.
Ashley and Blake's engagement session was a colorful paint fight. Their daughter, Morgan, was not quite as thrilled with getting paint on her clothes.
When the big day arrived, I met the bridal party at the salon in Irmo, South Carolina. We made our way to downtown Lexington, South Carolina for pre-wedding photos. Ashley was absolutely gorgeous in her wedding gown. The bridesmaids dresses were my favorite color, turquoise. The girls left and Blake and his groomsmen arrived for their photo-op. After photos of Blake with each of his groomsmen, the guys broke out cigars before making their way to The Mitchell House.
Ashley walked beside her dad down the isle to Blake where they exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. Afterwards, they danced the night away on the dance floor of the hottest reception I do believe I've ever photographed...literally! I'm fairly certain it reached 125 degrees this day....OK, maybe 102 degrees! But that stopped no one from having a great time before wishing Ashley and Blake years of happiness together as they left to start their life together as husband and wife with a honeymoon to Mexico.
